Things aren't always what they seem

梅子爱找茶

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.  
  
When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, "Things aren't always what they seem."  
  
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.  
  
The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.  
  
"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied.  
"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it." "Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead. Things aren't always what they seem."  
  
Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You just might not know it until some time later...   
  
两个天使在旅途中停留在一个富庶的人家过夜。这家人很无礼，没有招待天使在他们家的客房住下，而是让他们睡在阴冷的地下室。当天使在硬邦邦的地板上准备睡下的时候，年长的那个天使看到墙上有个洞，就把它补好了。  
    年轻的天使问他为什么，年长的回答：“事物未必是它表现出来的那个样子。”  
    第二天，两个天使来到了一个非常穷但是却很好客的农夫家过夜。农夫和他妻子把他们仅有的一点食物拿出来跟天使分享。然后，让天使睡在他们自己的床上。两个天使这一夜终于可以好好休息了。  
    次日当太阳再次升起的时候，天使却看见农夫和他的妻子在哭泣。他们的奶牛，他们唯一的收入来源，死在了田里。  
    年轻的天使恼火地质问年长的天使：“你怎么能让这种事情发生呢？那个富人应有尽有，你帮了他。这个农夫几乎一无所有，却什么都愿意拿出来跟别人分享，而你让他的牛死了。”  
   “事物并不一定就是它表现出来的那个样子。”年长的天使说：“我们在富人家的地下室过夜的那晚，我发现墙上的洞里藏着金子。因为那家人那么财迷心窍，不愿与人分享他们的所有，我就封住了那个洞，好让他们不能发现那些金子。”  
   “昨晚我们睡在农夫的床上的时候，死神来了，要带走农夫的妻子。我用奶牛换回了她的性命。事物并不一定就是它表现出来的那样。”  
    确实，有时候事物并不朝着应该的方向发展。但如果你有信念，就要相信，所有的结果都是对我们最为有利的。只是你可能要等到日后才会发现真相。
